I would like to export DXF files with the viewres preset to 20000 instead of the default 100

Can someone explain how I can change the default?

Viewres is an autocad setting so i do't think you can define an export from inventor to have a higher resolution

Are you looking to "smooth" the curve of your exported dxf's?

If so have a look at the options in the save copy as (found when save a face or flat pattern as a dxf)

Here you can set a few things to make the dxf "better" and the rebase geometry tick box will locate the lower left hand of the dxf at 0,0 when you open it in autocad

Thanks for confirming my suspicions, I have tried everything I could think of making changes to the default DXF file export options.

I have a couple of clients that prefer to program their Wire EDM using Esprit from a DXF instead of the model. My normal process is

to use the "Save Copy As" to the Inventor DWG file, then select DXF 2013. However, the saved DXF file has a Viewres of (100) making the intricate features of my designs difficult to understand. I did change the system variable WHIPARC to (1) which helped, but would like to get the Viewres set to 20000 by default instead of it being a manual change for each file.

I guess this is just another quirk of Inventor, similar to how I have to select the Option, Next, Finish when using "Save Copy As" the first time each design session to keep the exported file from being put inside a ZIP folder
