Inventor Drawing editing permanent titleblock information

Anonymous
Not applicable

I want to change information in our standard Title block so that this new information will come up every time I go into a drawing. Any Ideas? I've tried a couple of ways it works as long as I don't exit out of the program. If I exit out it defaults to the old information.

Thanks

Steve

Are you editing the actual template file, or opening a new drawing?

There is an add-in that will update the TB when you open the idw.  I will attach it here.

The way it works is you store your new template the way you want it.  When you open your idw, it will replace the TB in the drawing with the one that is in your new template.  In order for it to work, the TB has to have the same name (it is also case sensitive).

Give this a try and see how it works for you. I use it all the time to update my TB's and styles.

Hi Steve,

The new title block definition has been saved in the template file right? If yes, it should have the new information when you create a new drawing based on the template. For existing drawings, you can use Drawing Resource Transfer Wizard to move the new title block to the existing drawing. Does it make sense? If you cannot figure it out, please feel free to post an example so the experts can comment further.

Many thanks!

You would think Autodesk would have a one click function for this already or just be part of the drawing resource transfer wizard,etc....

Another reason I'm glad I don't have vault.. Some suggestions here..
