Inventor - Drawing dimensions shift after model update

Hi all,

I am experiencing quite a frustrating problem with Inventor.

Upon updating my parts / assemblies, my drawing sheet dimensions move randomly. I find myself spending much of my time reajusting the dimensions which have all moved.

This is quite a worrying problem as we sometimes have up to 100 sheets. If some dimensions move on each page, it results in quite a lot of time rechecking each page.

Any help would be much appreciated. I am hoping there is a magic ilogic script out there that addresses this issue.

Thanks

Anthony

Is it this setting:

Note that it's a Document Setting and will need setting in your template if; a) it's the right setting and b) you want it turned on for future drawings.

Hi! To add to Peter's suggestion, it could also be related to the view justification option. Edit the view -> Display -> Justification -> select "Fixed" (instead of "Centered"). This option will ensure the view camera stay fixed in the space without recentering itself to the extent of the model.

Many thanks!

Thanks for your replies. I have applied both of these options you suggested but the problem persists. I just did a quick test and I found that depending on how the dimension is created, it will move or not once the shape is modified. In this example, the dimension ''18'' has been created by selecting the red line. Once the surface (marked by a red line in the 2nd image) is moved, the dimension follows

In this example, I created the same dimension by selecting a line and a point. this time the dimension does not move once the part is modified.

I don't think there is a quick fix for this unfortunately. I have noticed that you can use reorganise dimensions tool which seems very useful. Also creating dimensions in series so they are locked together is also helpful.
