Inventor download issue

Anonymous
Not applicable

I'm downloading the Inventor professional 2018 student version to a folder my 😧 drive. My 😧 drive has 927 GB of storage space remaining. After about half an hour of downloading, it stopped at 9.99 GB. It seems unlikely that it would coincidentally stop right before 10 GB. I have no idea how to go about solving this problem. Any help with solving this problem would be appreciated. I have attached an image of the window, but other than that, I don't know what information to give.

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Community.

Check out this post for suggested troubleshooting on this issue that you encountered: Out of disk space during installation to another disk drive

I hope this information helps, let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

You downloaded it to your 😧

What are your spec's for your C:\ drive ..

I'm assuming you have 2 hard drives in this PC?

You might need to move the C:\Autodesk  files to your 2nd drive if so ...

and look at finding a bit more space on your main drive. If you max it out ..you'll see additional issues besides this ...

Did you download or did you really use the "Install Now" method?

that looks like you used install now

If you used Install now stop and actually download all the files first.. (use browser download method or get the files from the autodesk virtual agent)

"Install now" is known to cause issues for many..

As @mcgyvr indicated - STOP - what you are doing.

Your screen capture indicates that you are attempting to do an install via the internet.

This does not work in many cases.  This is not your fault - it is apparently a fault that Autodesk will not acknowledge or has been unable to fix for several years.

Use the Autodesk Virtual Agent and drill down to find these 3 files.

Once you have these 3 files - post back for instructions on how to properly install Inventor.

Thank you for all your replies. Firstly, I clicked cancel and then finish because I realized that all of the programs that I need had already finished downloading. I have inventor running now.

A few notes: I was downloading it to my 😧 drive because I didn't have enough space left on my C: drive. The problem wasn't that I didn't have enough storage space on the 😧 drive. Since the download was successful, I didn't get to try @mcgyvr or @Anonymous 's suggestions, but they make sense. If something like this ever happens again, that will be the first thing that I will try. Again, Thanks a lot.

Do you still have your C:\Autodesk folder?

Move it to your 😧

That should free up space....

You can delete you downloads ...

Then go back and clean out your %temp% and recycle bin ...

You should have a bit of gbs freed up this way.
