Inventor Custom Install (specific version)

Hi,

Am I missing something or has the ability to download and install specific versions of Inventor (and to that matter Vault) been taken away?

I wanted to download and install a Inventor 2024.3.2 but I can't see any possibility to download it.
If just choose install, then the only option is 2024.3.3
If I choose custom install then the only options are 2024 and 2024.3.3

This matters as we have had issues with specific versions.
Is there still some way of downloading 2024.3.2?

Hi, the current policy is that you can download, current year - 3 older ones.

Of each of those years you can download RTM (the original release) or the latest service pack, you cannot get the ones in between.

Sometimes if you go to manage.autodesk.com and click the assistant in the bottom corner you can get specific ones, but it's a case by case basis.

What issues are you having with 2024.3.3?

No issues, as we haven't tried it yet. I will usually try things out a test machine first before rolling out to all in the company.
Unfortunately I have had the time try this the newest update out as of yet and I have one user who has reinstalled but isn't able re-install 2024.3.2 since it isn't available anymore.

We have regretted updating without testing in the past.
I shall be sure to keep copies of updates in the future.

2024.3.2 is compatible with 2024.3.3.

All updates of a specific year will work with each other. Major updates, RTM, .1.0 and .2.0 introduce new features, but we specifically design it so that everyone can still open each others files and it will still work normally.

It's not a compatibility problem between updates.
It's just that sometimes an update can introduce new problems.  Over the all years that I've used Inventor and Vault,  I haven't seen it very often with Inventor, more with Vault, but nonetheless I don't feel like throwing caution to the wind.  We've been bitten before.

I did as you suggested and have now been able to download the 2024.3.2 update. So I guess I can say that was a solution.  Thank you.  🙂
