Inventor crashes while using dynamic simulation

It is been a while it is happening to me. At the first time when we give the input values to dive the mechanism it runs smoothly but whenever I get to change these values at the time of clicking properties it crashes every time. Its like seeing a still screen every time nothing works until I restart the software.

Can you attach the assembly here that exhibits this behavior?

What version of Inventor?

Hi! The behavior does not sound right to me. Could you try changing the hardware setting and see if it works better? Go to Tools -> Application Options -> Hardware -> change it to Conservative mode -> Ok. If it still does not work, please attach the files here or send them to me directly (johnson.shiue@autodesk.com). I would like to understand the behavior better.

Many thanks!

Hi,

What do you mean by "latest update" ? 2019 version ? Because I've got this crashing issue each time I'm doing a dynamic simulation, and we are currently using the 2018 version. Do I have to upgrade all my machines (but as I'm a teacher, it is not so easy), or is there a way to fix the bug on the 2018 version ?

Thanks for your help

I was using Inventor 2018.2 at that time and I got an update on 2018.2.1 That cleared all my issue.

You should be at 2018.3.2 as shown here:

Hi,

It's quite strange because I don't really have a release by asking the "About Autodesk" of my computer (see picture below). It seems that we don't get the update. Is it an automatic release ? Maybe it comes from my school firewall ?

Look in your Account manager:

https://manage.autodesk.com/cep

I would also monitor this page:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor-products/troubleshooting/caas/downloads/content/inventor-2018-updates-for-customers-subscription.html

So you just need 2018.3 and 2018.3.2

The Inventor 2018.3 Update process will silently uninstall 2018.2.1/2018.2.2/2018.2.3 prior to 2018.3 being installed. 2018.3 Update is a cumulative Update, it includes all fixes from 2018.2.1/2018.2.2/2018.2.3 Updates

I think @Anonymous is using a school's computer  (or I could be wrong) and most likely doesn't have the ability to update the school's machines and the school is still at the original release of Inventor.

@Anonymous is that correct, you have the problem on a school's computer or you're having the issue on your own machine/student license.
