Inventor cannot maximize from windows 10 taskbar

After I minimized Inventor to taskbar, then it can't be maximized from taskbar.

Inventor version is 2017.4.8

But if I open the fresh new Inventor which means there is no any open file, I can minimize and maximize Inventor window. After I open any file inside Inventor, I can't maximize.

Also one more question, I can't open Inventor file from windows folder by double click the file, after I double click an Inventor file, a new Inventor process will show up, after a few seconds it disappear.

what I do now is right click Inventor icon on taskbar, and choose close window, then Inventor will maximize. this inconvenient.

Doesn't sound right. I can minimize IV to the TaskBar and simply LH mouse click on the IV Icon in the TaskBar to return Inventor to the state it was before minimizing.

Opening a Inventor file through Windows Explorer is not recommended as your Project File may not be pointed to the correct folders. Always open file through Inventor and not by Windows Explorer. Open Inventor first, then check that you are using the correct Project File, then open the file within Inventor.

It might not hurt to do a full power down and restart of your PC.

@Anonymous,

Sounds like register case, have you register Inventor properly or is there any other version of Inventor installed in the machine side by side?

Have you tried the Inventor reset utility?

Hope it helps!

Hi! I could be wrong but I don't recall Inventor 2017 properly supports dual monitors. I just contacted the project team. It does look like the issue was known (INVGEN-23846). It has been fixed on 2020. Unfortunately, I don't think the fix can be ported back to 2017.

Many thanks!

I discovered one more thing, if I active "my home" window, I can minimize and maximize Inventor window, otherwise I cannot.
