Inventor: Break Out / Section edge - different layer (lineweight)

Hello,

is possible to set different layer for edges created by Break Out and Section view?

Same lineweight (thick) as visible edges is confusing. I'm tired from adjusting it manually every time. Basicaly I want to get result in a green circle instead of what is in a red circle.

Same for ends of the section view (now I'm using workaround - crop the section view very near its border to get thin lines on view edges).

Hi,

Yes it is possible to change the default setting of breakout line weight or section edge.

For this you have to go in Manage Tab>>Style Editor>>Object Defaults>>Break Out Line>> Assign Layer which you already defined for desired Line Weight. for your refernce see below Image.

Try similar procedure for section edge, it should be work.

Hello @j.pavlicek,

Thanks for this interesting post.

When you create a break out, the lines of the sketch you created , prior to creating the break out itself, are converted to visible edges and put by default on the Visible layer.

If you edit the Object Defaults in the Style Editor you should be able to assign a different layer to those edges.

I hope it helps.
