Inventor BOM Structured View - Some Assemblies can't be expanded or show

I'm not sure if this is a bug, or if I'm doing something wrong.

I'm wanting to export the BOM from the assembly, into excel, using the normal button to do that.  I noticed that not everything was exported, because some structured items didn't properly expand.  I tried switching to "First Level" and back to "All Levels", but that didn't change the inability to expand the assembly on the BOM view.

I think using model states is why some items are in BOLD BLUE.  I don't know what BOLD GREY means yet.

See screenshots below.

@tristen_gitzelXC9L2 as to the sub-assembly which can't be expanded in the BOM, please check the BOM structure on the children of sub-assembly.

As to bold items in the BOM cells, that means the value of property is customized but not default one.

Thank you!

Thanks,

Thanks for this idea on checking sub-assemblies; while investigating I found a stranger error that is related.  I have this non-expanding BOM in the same sub-assembly, but different model states, same file.

I think I discovered the fix - I changed all the items in the sub-assembly back to "Normal" BOM Structure, and then back to what I wanted, which was "Purchased".  I'm guessing that toggling these back and forth (save each time), forces it to get reset/rebuilt somehow.  Now it is working correctly (but some thumbnails are "Preview not available", even though the same file in a below subassembly works just fine.

On this sentance Yijiang: "As to bold items in the BOM cells, that means the value of property is customized but not default one.", can you expand futher, or point to the documentation that says this somewhere? It isn't intuitive to me, on what a default value might be.
