Inventor Assembly Inserted Sub-Assembly Size To Different Scale

bonjour,

 

j'ai un souci dans un assemblage comportant divers sous ensembles.

certains ne sont pas à la bonne taille, c'est arrivé d'un coup sans manip sur ces ensembles.

lorsque je les ouvre à part, ils sont à leur taille normale, mais dans l'assemblage ce n'est pas le cas.

sur l'image ci-dessous on voit que les 2 ensembles avec le chiffre 4 ne sont pas à la même taille, alors que ce sont exactement les même ensembles.

on remarque aussi sur l'ensemble fushia en arrière plan qu'il n'est pas à la même hauteur que le gris à coté, alors qu'ils devraient faire la même taille.

celà vous est-il déjà arrivé ? je ne sais pas quoi faire à part réinsérer les ensembles en question et remettre les contraintes ce qui est fastidieux et contre productif !!!

I cannot understand how this could happen; Inventor does not allow components to be inserted in an assembly at different scales.  Perhaps a graphics problem?

 

Can you post an example?  What version of Inventor are you using?

Hi! I can find two logical reasons to explain the behavior. 1) The subassembly is in Shrinkwrap with reduced scale in Derive. 2) The subassembly was imported in a different scale.

I am in R2018.3.4

it happened while I was inserting screws.

the subassembly was already present, at the right size. I always work on the scale 1.

 

I try to:

- restart the soft

- restart the pc

- open it in R2019

- reinserting the subassembly

the problem stay here !!!

Just a guess. Main assembly drawn in centimeters, subassmbly/parts in milimeters? Altough all my templates are set to mm, i noticed lately that sometimes i start in cm.... Not able to reproduce it on the spot, but it happened...

Hi Chris,

 

Something is wrong with "banche 4:1." The transformation matrix shows it is about 75.4% of the what it is supposed to be. Do you use a custom program or Inventor API to manipulate the occurrences? I am not aware of a manual workflow leading to such behavior.

Regarding the comments on units, Inventor is a true-scale 3D modeler. Geometry measures true size regardless of units. You can have an assembly with mixed units components.

i work only in mm, no apply added, nothing was made on the assembly,

at first time it was at the good size, and suddenly the size has changed for no reason

Hi Chris,

 

If I understood how Inventor works correctly, there is no workflow supposed to change the scale of a given occurrence or instance within an assembly. There could be a bug leading to such behavior but I am not aware of such bug. The transformation matrix of the smaller occurrence does show it was 75.4% what it is supposed to be. Do you know how to reproduce the behavior? Something is wrong for sure. In the meantime, you may want to delete the off-scaled occurrence and insert a new one.
