inventor 2023 style library manager issues?

Hi,

I have recently installed inventor 2023. I used the style library manager initially seemingly ok but now I cannot get it to work.  (I forgot to copy some old styles to the new library from my old library) I get "read only" I have set one of my projects to read_write for the styles attribute.  I also tried setting the folder attribute in file explorer and also using attrib in CMD.  They seem to revert to read only all the time.

I tried the work around as below but got the screen shot below that.....a message about migration but migrate is greyed out.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Ron

Hi! This issue should have been resolved in 2023.0.1, which is part of  2023.1. Please install 2023.1 update.

Many thanks!

@johnsonshiue

I am using 2023.1 and having this problem.  I tried changing the weld.xml, but don't seem to have permission?

Hi! I am sorry I don't understand why it does not work for you. The issue is indeed fixed in 2023.1 update. It could be install related. Maybe you want to uninstall Inventor 2023 and 2023.1. Then reinstall them.

Many thanks!

Hi Johnson.

Finding this problem as well on some fresh installs for a client and my own installs.

Even removing the read-only checks manually it says the styles library is read only regardless.

Starting to loathe opening the tool at all.. I just want it to work and this same issue keeps popping up over and over again.. 😞

I will make a request to Autodesk support on this directly. 2023.1 doesn't fix it.

I was able to get past this issue.  I ended up reinstalling Inventor and the service pack.  This time my style library did not go read only, but I did still have to migrate it.  Not sure if this will help anyone, but I just wanted to update.

That is strange. The last two that I had this issue on were with fresh installs of Inventor 2023. I would be nice to know another way to fix it.

Edit:

It looks like with Windows 11, folder security may be the culprit. It locks folders permissions for now apparent reason.
