NOTE: after separating mouse and keyboard inputs into different USB-C ports on my laptop, the issue seems resolved. The logical conclusion is that something hardware/driver related can't handle shift input + mmb input + mouse movement input all through one USB-C port, but then again it could be an Inventor issue. At least there is seemingly a workaround.
Hi, after recently upgrading to inventor 2023, assemblies that had zero performance issues in inventor 2022 are causing inventor to go non-responsive around every fifth time I try to orbit. Although the main assemblies I am working in are now considered "large", the problem has been present in all assemblies that I open in inventor 2023 including new ones with only a handful of components. The issue does not seem related to the size of the assemblies. These freezes last anywhere from 10 seconds to 30+ minutes. It has reduced my productivity by a very significant margin.
I have tried everything I can think of, including the following:
- Complete uninstall of all Autodesk software and files, reinstall of only inventor 2023
- Updated Inventor to 1.1
- My machine is a bootcamped MBP with an i9 and an AMD 5500m graphics, I uninstalled the widely preferred graphics driver from bootcampdrivers.com and reverted to the "official" one (WHQL certified), this did not change the performance of inventor or fix the issue.
- Set all application settings to the exact settings specified by this article: How to optimize the performance of Inventor | Inventor | Autodesk Knowledge Network
- Updated windows
Any suggestions appreciated, thanks.
EDIT:
In my desperate attempts to make it work, I switched my keybinds for orbit and pan, now pan causes the freezes instead of orbit. Somehow this is a hardware issue. Any ideas?? FYI whichever command is assigned to shift + MMB is causing the freezes.
