Running Inventor 2022.3

A reference dimension used in a formula elsewhere in the same part was not updating properly.

The 0.188" reference dimension is from the central plane to the profile edge.

In Sketch, if I try to put another dimension on this same geometry, the dimension preview says 0.178", not 0.188". And when I try to click to place it, rather than creating a reference dimension, Inventor instead says "Sketch dimension already exists."

But if I instead try to place a dimension from the central plane to the profile edge's vertex, then Inventor does not give me an error, and it places a reference dimension of 0.178".

I don't know how I'm getting two different dimensions for the same geometry.

Using the Measure tool on the 3d model, I also get 0.178" for the alleged 0.188" dimension.

The Update button is grayed out.

This issue skewed a dimension and could have caused an intermittent interference fit.

Hi! Please share the problematic file with me directly johnson.shiue@autodesk.com. I would like to understand the sketching behavior better.

Many thanks!
