Inventor 2020 .idw template uses different layer colors between "new" and "open"

Good morning everyone!

My coworker and I are both lost at this point in trying to figure this issue out. The exact same template file only uses our set layer colors when we go to "open" and then "save as", not when selecting it via the template under "new".

I can get the "new" one to use the green layer colors by importing the exact same style that it already has, but when I save it, it reverts back to white when trying to use it as a template.

Unsure if it matters here, but it might, we are checking the files into Vault and using them from there.

I've attached the template (won't let me attach the style definition).

When we go to file/new  to select the template & place a part, it looks like this:

When we go to file/open  to select the template & place a part, it looks like this (which is what we want):

Please let me know if you need anything else, I'll be refreshing this page a bunch today.

When you start from the template (upper picture), check Manage > Styles Editor and see if the active standard style is the same. Most likely the template needs to be opened separately and its style updated.

The active style is the same, they are both using the exact same template file. Sorry for not clarifying, this is the exact same file, just used in two different ways.

Hi! I think Gabriel is right. This is due to the fact that the layer assignment in active standard in the template is different than the same standard in the Styles Library. You need to save the change from the template back to the Styles Library.

Go to Project settings and make sure Use Styles Library is set to Read-Write. Then open the drawing template file -> Manage -> Styles and Standards ->Save -> make sure all the difference is understood -> Yes to Save -> Ok.

Many thanks!

Sorry for the extreme delay in replying here.

I ended up figuring it out later the next day after posting.

I ended up copying over my design data and pathing it to Vault for everyone to use and the issue was solved (after I overwrote the style).
