Inventor 2018 Loft With Straight Lines Between Sketches

In the old version of loft, it would make straight lines between the sketches.  The new version makes awesome curves between that are very editable and cool but now I can't make a part that I've taught for years.  How can I make a loft (like the old version without rails) with straight edges between the sketches?

thank you

Can you attach file that exhibits change in behavior?

Hello @Anonymous I see that you are visiting as a new member to the Inventor Forum.
Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Can you supply a simple shape for us to inspect and give you better feedback with?

We can draw random geometric lofts but would be better to work with the geometry you are struggling with.

Post an image, your part file, or better yet a screencast of your attempt and see what we can do!

IMG_8948.JPG is the new version of autoCAD. This google doc here - Link

- shows how I used to create the shape of the girl's dress and it would
come out as straight lines rather than curved.

thank you

Is this an AutoCAD question, or is this an Inventor question?

Are you Replying by email or are you replying by using the web browser?

Can you attach Inventor files (or AutoCAD files) that exhibit the change in behavior that you are describing?

Do you see any file (Inventor, AutoCAD, image or other) attached here?

Sorry.  I got these replies via email so I replied via email and I see now that they attachments and links didn't work.

Old Loft - directions i used to give my students on how to make the old loft and a picture of how it would come out.  Below is a picture of how it comes out now with curved lines.

1. You can use the built in Windows Snipping tool to do screen captures.

2. That would have always resulted in curved edges rather than straight edges in any release of Inventor.

3. Can't be sure from the image (can you attach actual Inventor files, these end with the extension *.ipt rather than mere pretty pictures), but Revolve might be a better choice depending on your design intent.

Do you have any file that illustrates the original behavior that you recall from 2016?

Are you sure you didn't do this as two separate features in the past, rather than as one feature?

Your instructions clearly state examine the difference between a 3 sketch loft result and 2 - 2 sketch lofts.
