Inventor 2018 Graphics Not Loading Model But Shows Up In Browser

I have previously posted a similar post, but accidentally solved it.

I have to use Software graphics to work with Inventor, my regular graphics refuse to load the 3D model. It is there and I can interact with it, but there is just an empty grey screen

I have NVIDIA GTX1070 graphics card with the most recent graphics drivers installed.

I have run the Inventor diagnostics, the file below will have the full output, as well as several images explaining what the Inventor window looks like for me.

What steps to take to fix this?

I have 2 PC's with  GTX1070's without any issues ...

 

Try using this driver:

What build of 2018 are you on? 

 

Should be 2018.3

Can you Attach example *.ipt file here?

(First thing that I will do is check to see if you have installed Inventor 2018 Updates since you didn't mention this.)

Nope, still not fixed. I have tried several different ipt files, ones that I know worked last time.

Does it work when you start a new part?

Looks like your graphic window is hidden or you have everything turned off.

I am currently working in Software graphics. whenever I start inventor without them I immediately get a grey screen where the part is. It persists throughout all parts, new or opened

I'll guess something didn't install correctly.

Try complete uninstall graphic driver and reinstall.

Then a repair of Inventor.

Don't know if that is a DirectX install/repair package from Microsoft.

So I believe I know why the problem arises:

1. My graphics drivers are failing to install correctly, and when I try to install them from scratch they throw a blue screen of death

2. My inventor is not 2018.3 version...

I will try to wipe and reinstall my computer from factory settings, but I think it is a computer issue, not an inventor og graphics card issue...

Sounds like it ..

 

I know the GTX works for Inventor, so the card not being certified isn't part of it ... 

 

 

Have you tried uninstalling the Nvidia ... doing a repair on your Windows and then install the driver again.

Hi Guys,

 

I really don't have much to add to what have already been mentioned by experts. I cannot reproduce the behavior either. The graphics driver seems to be up-to-date but OP mentioned there could be an install issue. The 2018 he is running is RTM build, not 2018.3 (build 284). I would make sure all critical Windows updates are installed, graphics driver is up-to-date, and then install 2018.3 update.
