I've been using Inventor for several months on a standalone PC. I went to start Inventor on Friday; as it was starting up the "Autodesk Inventor error report" screen pops up. When I click on the "view report details" the "dump file" mentions an "ACCESS_VIOLATION" and the "dmpuserinfo" file mentions an "Error loading upiconfig.xml", as well as "ACCESS_VIOLATION".
I've tried restarting the PC and even uninstalled and re-installed the Inventor software.
I also tried several of the suggestions from other similar posts.
Maybe you have to make a Clean uninstall of Inventor, delete the registry files, Restart Windows and then reinstall it . Follow these steps from start to end:
FOUAD LATRACH - MECHANICAL ENGINEER - ELCHE - SPAIN.

Welcome to the forum.
Have you done any MS upgrades to cause this? Any other software downloads taken place to cause this? Clearly it was working. Looking for differences in the time before versus after.

Make sure you have installed all available updates for Inventor 2014.
Any chance you are using roaming profiles?

I believe I am using roaming profiles. How will that make Inventor stop working? Especially since the other Autodesk software seems to be working fine?

There was a bug in the original release of Inventor 2014 which prevented it from working properly with roaming profiles. The result was an immediate crash on startup. The only fix is to apply all of the available updates.
