Is there any way after an assembly has been completed to re-define the locations of the default workplanes?
I need 0,0,0 to be defined in a certain location when exporting.
I am assuming the default workplanes to be the 0,0,0 point?
In MDT you can just move the whole assembly to WCS 0,0,0.

not really, you need to constrain your assembly so it is in the correct location.

yes

you can in inventor also, just make sure you don't have any grounded parts and no constraints to the origin work geometry. Then you should be able to drag the assembly around at will. If you have a master sketch part that you have constrained to, just ground it, then set the occurrence position as desired.

Kind of a kludgey workaround, but you can try starting a new
top level assembly and insert the existing assembly into that,
and position it however you want in the new assembly.

In the new assembly select the part you want to be a base part,
RMB-->Properties (on the bottom of the menu)-->Occurence tab-->cnage X, Y, Z
offsets to Zero.
