Internal Bevel Gears

Internal Bevel Gears

Hello all,

I am trying to generate an internal bevel gear as shown in the attached image. I have not found this gear design anywhere besides in a single short youtube animation shown below.

I wonder if there a way to adjust the settings in Inventors (or SolidWorks) gear generator to produce such a gear?

Thank you

I think, I could do it. See my initial attempt.

With Inventor tools, it's not possible in a straightforward way.

- Create a normal gear set

- Open the internal gear

- Create sketch on tooth plane

- Copy it to an offset plane

- Scale the new sketch, based on the gear ratio

- Loft between these sketches

Smiley WinkMain work is done.

Interesting approach! Thanks for attempting it. I wonder if the smaller bevel gear will mesh properly? In reagrds to the pressure angle, diameteral pitch, etc.

Sure. It's only a matter of knowledge and experience.
