Inteference Fit Analysis.

I'm a beginner in Inventor. I'm working on an academic project which requires me to find stresses generated by a tapered interference fit.

Hi!

Ok... nice to know!

After create the model, You can go the ENVIRONMENT tab and use STRESS ANALYSIS tool to test the models, or for more complex analysis try Inventor Nastran module.

Oh! I forgot to mention that I'm using 2019 version. Looks like it does not have the Nastran part.

You have to install Inventor Nastran on top of Inventor, after Inventor installed... is like an separated addin installer.

It's available in your Autodesk Account.

Anyway, just use the stress analysis module, is easier to a begin.

Kindly take me through, if possible, on how to analyze this fit. The interference is on the tapered surfaces.

First construct the model.

The components should be in contact and all parts should have the correct material applied.

  • Apply Automatic contacts
  • Create the mesh
  • Constraints:

               Fix the base

  • Loads:

Apply the force on top part

  • Run the analysis.
