Installing DerivedPart_SP in Inventor 2019 on Windows 10

At my company we occasionally use the SDK add-in called DerivedPart_SP to scale parts in a single dimension. We've recently started to upgrade some of our workstation computers to Windows 10 (from Win 7), and we've found that the Install.bat file always fails. When running it normally it says we do not have permission to make those registry edits. When we run the Install.bat as an administrator, it says that it cannot find the DerivedPart_SP.dll or one of its dependencies. The .dll is in the correct location, but we arent sure why it can't find a dependency.

Has anyone else gotten around this error? Is this something AutoDesk needs to fix for Windows 10?

Thanks for your help.

Hi! I need to work with the project team to understand the issue better. It should work. Did you install 2019.4 update followed by 2019.4.4 update?

Regarding scaling, you could use Direct Edit -> Body -> Scale command. It should work better than the old tool.

Many thanks!

We were on 2019.4,but updating to 2019.4.4 did not fix the add-in installation issue for windows 10. The same errors were returned as in the screenshots I attached on the original post.

We are aware of the Direct Edit -> Scale -> Non Uniform tool, but it only lets you select solids. We need it to be able to stretch surface bodies as well, so 1D lines will appear correctly. This worked with the DerivedPart_SP tool as shown in the simple example in the attached images.

It turns out that our Windows accounts, while they do have most admin privileges, were still locked out of a few by IT. While this was not an issue on Windows 7, it prevents installation of this specific add-in on Windows 10. So if anyone else encounters these errors, make sure the user trying to install has full admin privileges and it should work.
