Installing 2020 products

We currently are on 2018 inventor and Autocad, and we are installing 2020 products. under our contract I have multiple seats under my name. When 2020 is installed on a different box under a single user it requires a Autodesk login. Do I use my login for different machines or am I gonna have to create a user (under user management) for each seat? The first box i used my login and it would freeze up acad. We have always used a standalone install and never was required to have a Autodesk login for it. Has this changed since 2018?

Any insight would be great

If you have multiple subscriptions under your name then it should be able to figure it out..

Yes they have been changing the process..

However if you have multiple users then its "Better" to have each one of them create their own accounts and you just be the manager and assign them each their own license and have them log in that way..

I guess i'm not sure if you consider "seats" the same as "subscriptions".  I was nice not having to assign "seats" to specific employees, especially with times in turnovers. Can I have multiple generic users (mechanical 1, mechanical 2) and use my single email or is the email the actual user name?

We bought networked, not standalone subscriptions.  That way our internal license server manages who gets to use our Autodesk (and PTC, and Solidworks) products.

No need to create any Autodesk accounts for our employees.

With subscription based single user license you have to create users and assign the use of the product to them.  Although its not recommended to do this but yes you can create generic users  accounts.   But keep in mind, end users can't be bouncing around between these generic accounts.   If it was me..  I would just create your users as they are in real life..  Smiley Happy

Also for the future please use the Installation and Licensing forum for this type of inquiry.   Meaning this is not an Inventor issue...  Smiley LOL
