information about inventor 2016

Dear Sir / Madam,

years ago i have learn a little about inventor 10 on school.

now i have learn a little about 3D printing.

i want used inventor for make drawings and printing 3D

its important i can used text in sketch and also in drawings.

i want buy inventor to install on a stand alone computer.

i seen on autodesk site, inventor is verry expensief, i seen also inventor 2016 is more acceptable, but i don't know if inventor professional 2016 is compleet, also make text on sketch and in drawings.

also i want install inventor 2016 on a stand alone computer, the computer is not connected to internet.

You will want to look into "Autodesk Fusion"..
Its very similar to Inventor (in fact its probably going to replace Inventor in the near future) and is completely free provided you are not using this for commercial purposes and your company makes over $100,000 USD per year..

Its more than capable of being used for 3d printing..

You can get a free 1 year license and just need to renew that license each year (again for free) to keep using it..

Near future?  Have you been following Fusion development?

Oops.. Missed the part about not being connected to the internet..

Heck.. For "free".. I'd get an internet connection as its cheaper than Inventor at that point.. 

And no I don't follow Fusion closely if at all.. But anything I do see is that its being packed with features/functionality far faster than Inventor is putting out these half developed ones.. and its priced far less than Inventor.. 

I just don't see how Inventor is going to last... 

From the marketing material I don't much that it says it can't do vs Inventor and looks like it does more.. 

But like I said.. I only walk past the Autodesk department store window every once in a while and am just blinded by the Fusion bling.. 3D parametric modeling.. parts and assemblies.... simulations including thermal (<--big one for me that would cost me thousands of dollars to add to Inventor)... CAM with 2.5D + turning.. 3d printing and on and on.. 

Until I actually use it and get past the marketing fluff though I'm not a good source of whats real with it of course.. I'd suspect I'll get a let down there too for many things..  I'll try it with my next "personal project" I've got coming up and see how it hangs..

@christian_vandaele: Hi Christian, Please feel free to try Fusion 360 and Inventor Professional. The latest release of Inventor is 2018. You should be able to download and try it. If you are a student or an educator, you are entitled for free 3-year renewable student license of most Autodesk products for educational usage.

Inventor Professional is growing in a very healthy pace. I have not heard any plan or intention to replace Inventor Professional in short or long term. As you know better than I do, mechanical design CAD market is highly competitive. We do have users moving to or from other CAD systems.
