Hi,

I updatded from Inventor 2021 to 2025. Now the shaded views in my .idw looks all different in brightness. (images attached). The lights in the model are both (inv2021  and inv2025) set to "default lghts".

The grey tone shoul looks the same in all views.

Thank you

Hi! I believe this may be related to an enhancement in Inventor that enables drawing shaded views to leverage the model lighting. The shading should look the same as in the model. You may either change the lighting or do the following.

Go to Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings -> Environment Variable

UseModelLightingForDrawingView = 0

Many thanks!

Thank you! that was exactly what caused the problem.

I always wonder why such “features” are activated by default.

Note: ControlPanel = Win System Settings

I can't seem to find an option to change this: UseModelLightingForDrawingView = 0

Hi Kelly,

It is in Windows Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings -> Environment Variables. Create a new environment variable, "UseModelLightingForDrawingView." Set the value to 0.

Many thanks!
