Importing STP files -- how to troubleshoot "stuck at 95%"

I can't share any STP file directly, and I feel like I have to lead with that -- but it has happened with multiple files, and I want to ask smart people for advice:

 

Sometimes I'll import a STP file (usually from within a new part file, so I can control the iProperties later, but opening directly does the same) and it will get stuck at 95%. Normally I would have thought that means the STP file is corrupt, but now I have the autodesk viewer web-app and I can confirm the STP files work there, but not on my local machine. Is it because I'm using Inventor 2023 and the web-app has a better translator (I don't know how that works under the hood)? How can I diagnose and/or fix a STP file that gets stuck at 95%?

Hi, yes the web viewer would have the most up to date translation. Would you be able to send the file to me or someone else privately at Autodesk?
