What version of Inventor are you using?  2017? 2010? 10?

Do you have a green checkmark in the browser indicating the geometry has passed Inventor Quality Check?

Do you have a Solid Bodies (1) folder in the browser or do you have a Surface Bodies (1) folder?

Can you attach your Inventor *.ipt part file here?

I don't see any sketches in the file you attached to Extrude?

Try this file. (see attached)

I try its same. Please see attached file. In assembly I insert your helmet. Make new part, simple rectangle then extrude to helmet nothing I can extrude to point on body surface.

1. You did not attach Inventor files again.

2. Why are you doing this in assembly rather than as multi-body solid.  (it can be done at assembly - but that requires a higher level of training)

3.  Well, I forgot what 3 was - but anyhow, attach your Inventor files here rather than image files and you might explain a bit about your design intent.
