Import Solidworks Configurations

Has anyone found a way to import configurations from Solidworks into Inventor?  A lot of engineers that use Solidworks for standard products will use configurations, but since you cannot select a specific configuration when opening in Inventor it almost nullifies the advantage of keeping it linked to the Solidworks file.

I have created an idea station post for this if anyone else thinks that this would be a good idea.

Hi Andrew,

How are you doing? Regarding high-fidelity import, you may want to look into GoToInventor by ITI. It may have some solutions for your.

Many thanks!

Hello Johnson,

I am doing well.  I recently started a new job, so hopefully I'll have more time for engaging on the forums again.

My understanding is that GoToInventor will convert files from one CAD format into a fully feature based Inventor file but it is not still referencing the original file.  What I'm looking for is the ability to reference a native Solidworks file in Inventor by a specific configuration, and even have different model states reference different configurations.  I would like the Inventor file to update automatically when the Solidworks file updates.  This is already possible if the Solidworks file does not use configurations with the AnyCAD technology, I'm just wondering if it is possible to extend this to utilize configurations.  This might just be a pipe dream, but it would help out anyone that is working for a company that uses both Inventor and Solidworks.
