Import *.DWG to 3D solids (respectively *.STP, STEP-format)

Dear forum,

I know how to import a Autocad DWG file to Inventor as 3D solids. As I understand almost nothing about the solids (and *.STP) format, which, however, I need to create for a manufacturer, I wanted to ask, why in the converted file (see attached), I don't "see" any 3D model (though I created one in Autocad), respectively, what does the manufacturer "see" after all ? Something like my Autocad Model perspective ?

Thanks a lot,

chris

Attached, 2 DWG Autocad files in 3D and one corresponding Inventor solid file (due to file size constraint).

"nicht extrudiert" did not import any solids here, but the other one did. Here is the process:

Then discard the 2D entities that end up in a 2D drawing (DWG), and you can export the IAM with 3D entities as a single STP file:

See attached.

"nicht extrudiert"

Has 3D sketch, no solid.

List in AutoCAD indicates a mix of solids and surfaces.  I doubt you want to discard the surface bodies.

Thanks a lot to you all! I see the point of 3D solids - hmm, I obviously only wanted solids, but somehow I mixed that up with surface solids. I should get rid of that in Autocad.
