imperial vs metric

When installing Inventor the default template is Imperial.

Guys, really!!

Isnt there a international agrement to use metric (SI)?

@Anonymous You do realize Autodesk is an American Company and America is still imperial even though America is technically metric - don't get me started on that topic.

It isn't super difficult to change the default template. I know it's one of those quality-of-life things but the fact it took me 30 to change the default and then each version just import the last settings.

Well IF your in the UK we never actually signed up to or ever agreed to  the adopt the metric system SO the standard units are STILL IMPERIAL

Implementation from 1970s onwards, almost 50 years of metrication.

Whilst we do still use imperial units for some common things (miles per hour on road signs or clothing sizes in inches for example), science and engineering has been metric for a long time in the UK.

Why anyone would choose anything other than metric these days for new designs is beyond me, but old traditions die hard.

Although the UK is largely metric, in reality, a lot of standard parts are in metric units but are just imperial numbers converted to mm. In the industry I work in, customers still order i.e., 8" flanges for their equipment because that is the standard part size, even if it is expressed as 203mm. Makes no difference if the order is from the US, Europe, China or Australia.
