IGS file assembly

Anonymous

Hi

A company send me a machine in IGS file. All the individuals parts open fine in Inventor but I can't see nothing when I open the assembly. All the parts are in the same folder.

Do I need to do come steps to open that correctly or I can't do that?

Thanks

@Anonymous

Are you referring to the browser info you have outlined in your browser image?  If so that's still a part..  Its not an assembly.  Look at the browser icon.

No, That was selected but not to highlight.

Look this one. Any part open fine but the assembly does not.

@Anonymous I see that you are visiting as a new member to the Inventor Forum.
Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

When you expand the > of the .ipt in the model tree what shows up, are the parts showing up as a surface that is suppressed? Or possibly turn the visibility on? That would be my first guess when importing 3rd party files. If you can provide a bit more info or delete out all but a few basic/non-proprietary files and post? Thanks!

In addition to surface Visibility-

another problem could be a "floater".

If you delete all but one part from the assembly and do a Zoom All - does the remaining part show in the assembly?

Thanks for welcome.  I'm just a beginner 🙂

Is this mean that no part is in the tree?

In the assembly browser - click on this black symbol > and then post new screenshot image here.

Hi! I think the bodies are probably in Construction Environment in each part. You may want to re-import the IGS file but set the destination to Repair Environment.

Many thanks!
