IDW Sketch dimensions - precision setting?

Is there such a thing? Or are we hard locked to 3 decimal places for linear dimensions and 1 place for angles? We've been trying to find the setting and can only come up with an override on a per sketch dimension basis, which is a workaround, but not an ideal solution.

The setting does existing in IPT's, but I don't see it for IDW's..

Are you talking about the sketches in a 2d and dimensioning of them? 

If so I've never seen a way to adjust the sketch dim's ... never saw it as an issue, since they disappear when you close the sketch

If you are talking about Annotations then it is in your idw file: Manage/Styles editor and under dimensions there are many fields you can adjust.

I assume you want the tolerance tab and make an adustment there.

You need to do this chaange on your IDW template file to make it a global change.

It is best practise to copy a style and adjust the copy so you can always resort back to the standard.

If it is not this info you are after then you may need to expand a little.

No, just the contraint sketches in the 'create sketch' portion of an IDW file. The default is 3 decimal places, some people here want 4, etc. Someone specially wanted to change their angles to two decimal places.

It's seeming more and more that it's a setting we're locked out of. Odd that it exists in IPT's though.

Just out of curiosity - what are you sketching in a drawing that the dimensions need to be shown?

Edit: I had never needed the behavior you describe - so I just gave it a shot.

Well now I am really confused - because I can create the sketch, exit and then dimension just like anything brought in from ipt or iam.  I don't understand the problem?

Can I ask why?   ... Do you leave them visible?

Why not just dimensin them as you would any other part of the IDW ..with Dim Styles to what you want.

I/They're not leaving them visible on the drawing sheet.

These are the constraint sketch dimensions you can make inside the sketch. People just want to see those constraints when they're drawing in the sketch area for their own benefit. Nothing to do with the printed page.

But why?  What are you sketching in a drawing?  Curious!

Does anyone have an answer to this?  As for people asking "why?", for me, it's checking region properties on a drawing sketch.  The precision for this is only set to three, and I'd like to see the Region Properties I'm measuring set to 4.

Hi! Unfortunately, there isn't a display precision in drawing document setting to drive sketch dimension or properties like in part or assembly document. The only workaround I am aware of is to copy and paste the sketch to a part sketch and set the display precision very high and check the region properties there.
