iAssembly BOM Rollup Error

I have searched the group and read the threads. Error still exists.

I am using 2010 SS SP2

The issue is that in my BOM & Parts List I get the "BOM Rollup Error" and the "claim" by Inventor is "The Base Qty Unit types of 1 or more Rollup Participants do not match"

My counter claim is: it's the exact same part just used multiple times (a few levels down in an iAssembly)

My stucture is as follows:
1 Top-Level iAssembly
1.1 iAssembly (body sub)
1.1.1 cover sub1
1.1.1.1 7260-50006-00004
1.1.1.2 various components
1.1.2 cover sub2
1.1.2.1 7260-50006-00004
1.1.2.2 various components
1.1.3 cover sub3
1.1.3.1 7260-50006-00004
1.1.3.2 various components
1.1.4 inlet sub1
1.1.4.1 7260-50006-00004
1.1.4.2 various components
1.1.5 various components
1.2 iAssembly (leg sub1)
1.3 iAssembly (leg sub2)
1.4 iAssembly (leg sub3)
1.5 iAssembly (leg sub4)
1.6 various sub-assemblies
1.7 various components (mostly fasteners)
1.8 7260-50006-00002
1.9 7260-50006-00003

*all instances of 7260-50006-00004 are the same member of the iPart factory)
*all 7260-50006-0000X are from the same iPart factory)
*all sub-assemblies are phantom (in order to move all parts to Top-Level BOM)
*qty is calculated via model parameters in the unit of ft

some quantities calculate at the sub-assy level, but at the assembly level rollup error occurs

is an iAssembly simply not going to calculate these appropriately?

For the time being I seem to have found a way to get the desired results, though not via ideal methods.

By moving the items calculating length quantities based on model parameters to the top level of the assembly I am able to get calculated quantities to show appropriately.

This is not ideal as the sub-assemblies had to be broken apart such that they do not match how they are manufactured.

Having the same issue in Inventor 2022

Hi! Your issue may or may not be the same as the OP. If possible, please share the files that exhibit the BOM roll-up error behavior here or send them in zip to me directly johnson.shiue@autodesk.com. I would like to understand the behavior better.

Many thanks!

Doing some digging, my error seems related to model states, not to iParts. The error appears on iParts, but only in model states where one of the iParts is suppressed. Seems Inventor handles suppressed components by setting the "QTY" column to "0" for that instance. Since all the other instances are in units of "m" Inventor seems to throw an error when trying to add this "0" qty to the other "m" qtys during rollup. Can't share the files but some screenshots attached. I saw this may be a known issue with a solution in later versions, but I can't confirm that on my PC Re: PARTS LIST QTy ROLLUP Error and QTY "0" Zero - Autodesk Community - Inventor
