Hi to all, I'm trying to convert an inventor to .step but the image is lost. you will find enclosed two images (.jpg). 

any ideas??

I inserted the image as a decall and still lost it.

Hi!

 

When you convert to step, you will lost some data. Images is one of these things you will lost.

STEP can only store geometry and basic appearance. Mapped images aren't stored with STEP.

Do you know if there is an other file that could work? (.iges for example )

As far as I know NO neutral (iges/step,etc..) CAD format will retain the image..

 

What are you trying to do?

What software are you trying to pass this information to?

Hi, 

I'm trying to transfert that file to a customer. 

I want to convert the file so i can opaned in adobe 3d and send it to my customer.

I also tried to open it with Naviswork and the image is still missing.

What does the customer need with the file?  Simply to view the contents?

If so, there might be several solutions.

 

Autodesk just released a new viewer that is supposed to view many different types of files (I haven't downloaded it yet to experiment).

First I would try Save As *.dwfx

If that doesn't work - then I would investigate the new software recently released by Autodesk.  I think it would allow the customer to view the Inventor file directly (but they would have to install something).  There is also Inventor View.
