I downloaded Inventor 2024 but my school uses 2023 version and is unable to open 2024 files, how can I carry my work over to school computers

I downloaded Inventor 2024 but my school uses 2023 version and is unable to open 2024 files, how can I carry my work over to school computers

I am unable to find the option to save as 2023 or any file type that is compatible with the older version. Please help ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi

It is not possible. If you want collaboration, you need one version. Parametric programs are not backward compatible.

Unfortunately, you need to download and install Inventor 2023. 

 

I am not aware of a way to save an Inventor 2024 file in the 2023 format.  The AnyCAD workflows that allow Inventor 2023 to open Inventor 2024 files do not give you a full model history tree. 

 

If you have any important work in 2024, you will need to re-do it in 2023.

All CAD software are NOT backward compatible.

Redo everything in 2023.

It's a good exercise.

You might find faster or better way to model.

 

And yes, I still do that after 20+ years using Inventor.

You can Export it as a step file and use it with any cad software.
