I cant change Drawing Template Style

Hello

I had this problem with older versions but now I am stuck again.

In my IDW Drawing Template I want to change the Linear Object style from ISO to ISO 1b

In Style editor I change the "Objects Default"

Then I "Save Copy As a Template"

When I start a new Drawing the Style is back to ISO

What do I do wrong??

In my Project settings I have Read-Write for the Style library

The reason for using ISO 1b is that I want the settings for removing trailing Zeros in dimensions and I cant uncheck these boxes in ISO style

Hi Mustang69,

The reason the setting changes back to the default is because it's conflicting with the setting in the style library.

If you edit the existing style (ex. Object Defaults (ISO)), Inventor will compare it with the setting in the style library. If it's different the style library setting is used.

You may have seen the following message when opening your custom template.

So, the solutions is to add a new style to make a change and update the template. Here's an example:

Or, if you intend to use it for any new drawings, you can actually update the style library by saving the document setting to the style library. Please make sure that you backup the current style library in case you need them again.

Great!

I did not get style conflict message.

But it worked when I made a new Style!

Thanks!
