Hi. how update part when make component in multi bodies and make the same part to one? I have attached the image file. help me. I am stuck in this regard. Please, can i use ilogic?

If I'm understanding correctly you would like to make a part from solid 6 in your multi body part? If so you can do this the same way you made the first 5, select the solid and click "create components". You can also select to place it into an existing assembly. Hope this helps!

Right click on the new body and select Make Part.

Make sure that you set to same location as the earlier files.

You have to make the part before you can put it into the assembly. There is currently no solution to automatically make the component and place it into the assembly, as doing so would require knowledge of the design intent.

Only make the component for Solid1.  Manually constrain (or use Component Pattern, if applicable) the other four to the multibody part.

Hi Tavo,

This can be done in two ways. You can use Replace Components workflow (multi-select the those parts -> right-click -> Replace All -> pick the first part). Or, you can go to BOM table -> simply change those parts' part number to the same. They will row up to one part.

It appears there is no way to merge new parts into an existing assembly.  The dialog box assumes you want to create a new assembly each time a new multi-body part is added on the base level.  Or do you just have it create a new assembly, then insert the new body into your original target assembly?

I recall merging new parts to an existing assembly is indeed allowed. If it does not work, it sounds like a bug to me. Please share an example that illustrates the issue here.

The Make Components and Make Parts tools are just helpful wizards to guide you through the process, but you can easily do it manually:

• start a new part file
• use Derived Part tool to open the master part and select the new body
• Save
• Open assembly and add the new part, grounding it to the assembly origin (unless it needs to be able to move)

That's all that's needed.

Thank you for clarifying the steps.  I was expecting the new part body to materialize into the original assembly automatically or somehow be able to refresh the assembly to look for new part bodies created at the lower level.  Thanks again.
