How to use my sketch in my drawing?

I need to cut a piece of mesh from a standard size, but I am trying to show the cut in my drawing. I already cut it in my 3d model so it shows as cut in my drawing but I need to show the exactplace I cut from the original standard piece. Can someone help me with this? I tried using the overlay feature but it's not bringing the views in at the same size so that's not working.

Try using model states, this is exactly what it is intended for.

You have the original mesh.

Create a new model state and this can be original.

Suppress the cut feature.

Create a new model state for 'cut.'

Put the original in the drawing,

then click overlay and insert the same model, but use 'cut'

You can go to styles manager and change the colour of the overlay if that helps
