How to trim centerline bisector lines in .idw drawing at tangent points

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/how-to-trim-centerline-bisector-lines-in-idw-drawing-a...

I see this has been covered previously, and it seems there is no way of doing a centre line bisector for multiple lines and arcs and having them

join up smoothly as a chain.

my 2 work arounds are

1.  retrieving the model sketches for the path of the sweep of the circle, and changing the linetype to chain

2.  drawing the centre line as a sketch (ie like you would do it in autocad)

See my attached PDF

How does everyone else tackle this one..

I use the techniques you described, either retrieve model sketch or create drawing view sketch.

Thanks Sam

It looks like that is what most users, including us, do.

Leaving the centre lines and arcs overlapping does look

pretty ugly as well as unprofessional!!

I guess it would be pretty pointless posting an idea on this topic unless there was enough support.

I have just recently had 2 ideas archived because there was not enough support.

Therefore I am going to post my idea here first for comments and support.

If there is not enough support or enough reasons saying why it is not a good idea, I won't take it any further.

Hello @MikeKovacik4928 thought I'd consolidate a few similar ideas and post them here:

Drawing 'Automated Centerlines' support for path of sweep features

Centerline bisector should stop at end point of bend

Multi-Selection Centerline Bisectors

Centerline enhanced for

Automated Centerlines

Thanks

I see the idea has been put forward before, and it has been accepted and put forward for future consideration.

I will not therefore add my vote, as I presume it will appear in future versions of  Inventor.

I have never used Automated centrelines before, I will investigate.

From reading what you have pointed to, I see, though, it has the same problems, regards having to trim.

On second thoughts, I will put my vote forward on those ideas.
