How to subtract (boolean) solid from a surface

I have a surface and a solid.

I wish to subtract the solid from the surface so that the result is solid with an hole.

Which functionality to use?

Hi!

Trim solid...

Second option in the "Split" Tool.

Want to trim/cut surface not the solid. Solid is just a tool here.

I tried both commands, did not let me pick the appropriate inputs.

Hi!

Instead a solid, you must have another surface as tool, and it can be totally associative with the solid.

Check the video...

Thanks for the video. I got it now.

Not appropriate for this forum, but I am planning to write a program, where I would need API's for these. In that case, I will need to detect 'Surface to remove', prgrammatically.

Just wish a simple subtract-boolean operation working between surface as master, solid as tool!!!

The surface you have here belong to a  solid... why you just make the operation between the solids instead between one of his face and another solid?
