How to remove the Default template?

Hi All,

I was wondering if someone could give me an answer on the following:

Does anyone know how to remove the "Default" tab when creating new parts?

Until a few weeks ago I could press "Create" and it would automatically choose the template as sheet metal.

Now I have to physically open the templates and find the correct sheet steel template.

I have gone into the inventor files to where my companies standard templates are kept and there is no "Default" file location.

Any advice would be great.

Would you please check, if the Folder Options for Templates in the Project-File are set to the correct path?

Hi @m.meek 

Please make sure that there are template files in the defined path.

If you work with Vault, please get the templates on your Working Folder.

Yes I work with Vault and the template files are in the correct path and location.

I can get to my templates that isnt the issue, I want to remove the "default" one that has nothing inside it.

If you look at the attached JPG with the original post you will see what I mean.

You can't get rid of the default template location tab..

In your active project file, under folder options, what is set for your templates?  [DEFAULT] or something else?

This has only happened recently, Originally it would automatically select our own sheet steel as standard.

Under Folder options in Projects it reads:

"Templates = .\System\Autodesk Inventor\Templates\"

So in that folder location is there anything there?   Not talking about sub-folders but actual files..

I have copied the files from the subfolder into that directory and its worked a treat.

Hi @m.meek 

I checked it in my environment. In the default are all templates set in the Folder Options Templates. The other Tabs are all relevant subfolders in this path.
