How to properly design a model to be used in Autodesk CFD?

Hi,
I am designing a rocket body on Inventor and eventually would like to do a CFD/structural analysis. I can design the parts of the rocket properly (basically a giant cylindrical tube and 4 grid fins) but I don't know how to "put" the two designs together properly.
I would like to avoid a mistake I made last year where I created the 4 grid fins first, then created the rocket body to "join" the grid fins together.
That probably isn't the best way to go about this. How would I create a cylindrical tube (represents rocket body) and place 4 grid fins in their respective spots properly?
Also, whenever I ran the same model I described above, I got a bunch of errors with big red arrows pointing at the grid fin. I remember trying to find a solution to this but nothing came up- a part of me is telling me that I designed the grid fins in a way CFD didn't like. I used this tutorial to create the fins.
