Hi,
My question is regarding how to create the correct threads and holes for different kinds of items. My challenge is I need to make different fittings like union male parts, elbows and hexagons with different thread types.
The Thread types I need to create is the following:
- ISO 228-1G (inside)
- ISO 7-1R (outside)
- ISO 228 (outside)
- NPT ANSI B1.20.
- ANSI B16.25
- Thr DIN 405-1
I have tried to use the tools “thread” and “hole” but I can’t find these thread type I need in inventor.
Am I using the wrong tool?
I know it is possible to implement thread types which are not already in inventor by adding them to the thread.xls file.
Does anyone have experience with this work process and how it is done ?
Can anybody help or explain How to work with this thread.xls file, and where can I find the info I need in order to add the thread types?
I have looked for info on websites like these below, but the info provided does not seem sufficient for the info I need to add to the file:
http://www.gewinde-normen.de/en/knuckle-thread-din-405.html
http://www.hug-technik.com/inhalt/ta/rundgewinde_din_405.html
I have attached 3 examples of the different items I need to make e.g. the union male part where I need the thread DIN 405-1 (Rd 40 x 1/8).
In this specific case does the info: Rd 40 x 1/6 also indicates the outer dimension of the item?
How does I make this item if I don’t know the dimension of “d5” in mm like the other info I have of this item?
I am using Inventor 2014.
Thank you in advance,
