Hi experts,

how to add parameter in to non-parameter model (ex : stp or igs)?

because wanting  to use i-Logic ,if the model has no parameter, can't use it to drive.

Except redrawing the model.

thanks!

You can't because there's nowhere to store it.

Only way to do it would be to add your parameter to the end of the file name and get iLogic to check for that.

You can't add a parameter to a STEP or IGES file, but once imported into an Inventor file (.ipt), you can add parameters as you please.  Do you just need a user parameter, completely divorced from the geometry, or do you need a measurement/dimension from the geometry?

Hi! To get "parameters", you need to create sketches and features. The quickest thing to try is leveraging Feature Recognition app on Inventor App store.

A more elaborated solution is GoToInventor, an app developed by our partner ITI, who specializes in multi-CAD interop workflows. You can translate almost any CAD format to Inventor files with high fidelity.

Many thanks!
