How to edit autocad files in inventor professional 2017

hi, i want to know that how to edit previously saved in autocad files edit directly into Inventor Professional 2017, Recently i have attended webinar for my query and i discovered that autocad files can be edited in Inventor Professional, so i ordered Inventor Professional 2017 and now i can not edit my previous files which is saved by autocad. tried with Open Directly and Import Option also, So, i registered a case into support, in remote session, support executive said that i need autocad also to edit those files. so i am confused again, now i need autocad also to edit files???? please suggest me what to do now
