How to dimension sketch lines on a model with a custom view orientation

I am creating a drawing in Inventor. My model was created rotated slightly out of alignment with the origin plane X,Y, so it appeared slightly skewed in my drawing and gave me issues when dimensioning.

To fix this, I applied a custom view orientation.

I selected a face of the model that I wanted to be normal to the camera and hit "Page Up" to align to camera and clicked "Finish Custom View".

Back in the drawing, it seemed to work properly. See below:

Dimensions are showing up how they should, but with one important exception:

I can no longer add dimensions to sketch lines (after finishing a sketch). When I add sketch lines to the parts, finish the sketch, and then attempt to add an angular dimension between two lines, no dimension appears. My guess is that this issue has something to do with the fact that the model was skewed to start, but that I applied a custom view orientation to straighten and align it to the camera view.

I assumed that setting a custom view orientation normal to a plane of the model, would allow me to add sketch lines and dimension those sketch lines as usual. Adding sketch lines to help with dimensioning drawings always works on models that don't need a custom view orientation, but it doesn't seem to be working when I apply a custom view orientation to a model that was skewed.

Hope I explained it in a way that makes sense. Any ideas?

Hi!

I don't have any issue of adding dimensions on a sketch created in a "skewed" view.

Hi! Is it possible the sketch is on the sheet not on the view? Did you pre-select the view and then create the sketch?

Many thanks!

I'll double check, but I'm pretty sure I applied the sketch to the view, as the sketch lines were automatically constraining themselves to the lines of the model in that view.

I'll put together an inventor part, assembly, and drawing and upload here if I get time this afternoon.
