How to cut a part of circle

How can i cut some of the circle in Inventor so i can go from the first picture to the second ?

I made the "pipe" with sweep.

Is it easy to draw a pipe with sweep..? 

I guess i need an innercircle and an outer circle to it...

Here i just have a "massive" pipe without hole..

Or can i use som  command in  Inventor for this purpose, so i can draw a pipe much easier ?

Hi!

You can model a pipe drawing two concentric circles and then you extrude only the area between the circles.

The pipe´s length will be the length of the extrusion operation. 

Sweep operation is commonly use for irregular paths. Also you migth use it for straight pieces, but it is not common.

But I need to draw a path (center for the two circles) first and then i can extrude the pipe along the path. Is it right way to do it?

And how can i draw a pipe like in my picture? The path should not be a complet circle. I guess i have to draw a circle for the path, and then I have to

measure from top point of the circle, the heigth of my construction, so i get a part of a circle. But how do I "delete" the part of the path that i dont need?

It would be easier if i could choose a pipe and material, and draw a centerline for the pipe. When drawing the part of a circle, could delete lines and path like in the Windows program "paint".

I need to choose material for the pipe and afterwards calculate strength, G powers and so on.

Also i need to cut the pipe in 5 pieces so  i  can assemble the pipe parts afterwards.

Så i hope its possible to do some editing afterwards, after the extruding.....

I think i can use trim. But my pipe is a little bit different. Its like a portal, and its not a half pipe. Path is the concentric circles. It has to be like the drawings i attached. But only a part of the circle. Its difficult to explain but i dont know how to explain it better...

In this example I used splines lines to draw the path, but if you need a part of a circle, then you can use a circle and then cut the part you need.

Looks good, but a little bit fast presentation 🙂 But fine  with your help !

I have a circle now but i have difficulties with the "Normal to a curve at a point".. i cant see the normal plane when i zoom in ?

I also guess that i need two concentric circles to get the pipe. And i only need some of the circle..

But one step is better than no steps 🙂

Do you want the length before it is bent, or the length after it is bent (it will stretch in the bending process).
