How to create and customize ipt and idw templates and make it the default in inventor when starting a new file?

Make your desired changes and then Save As>Save as Template and overwrite your Standard templates.

(Or you could change path to point to custom templates.)

Thanks for the help, If I use ilogic and save the template file will ilogic go with the file or will I have to configure it again?

Hi! Yes, an iLogic rule embedded in the template carries over to the new document. You don't need to recreate the rule.
