How to add a 3D texture to a surface.

Hi guys. I'm needing to place a 3D texture on a surface but cannot find any function to do so...pls help Smiley Surprised

Hello @Anonymous,

You have to create a sketch and split the face into two area, then, select the face, assign an appearance to that face.

Edit the appearance and enable bump option and navigate to the image you want to put on, adjust the bump factor to get the 3D effects.

You can only do a visual representation of that surface using the technique posted above..

If you actually need that for example to be part of a 3d print then there is no "easy button" for that in Inventor and the task is quite challenging..

There is likely another software that is better suited to applying that..
