How do I section a dwg view using a sketch that has an arc?

I am trying to section a cylindrical object (top view), that has multiple cylindrical components inside, to show details between 2 of the inner components diameters. I tried to section and then continue with an arc, but it breaks the section command when I try to add an arc to it. I made a sketch also with  a 90º line on each side of the cylinder outer wall and an arc to connect these 2 lines. They are all connected, but when I use the section command it only recognizes the first line I drew in my sketch. Will the section command work on an arc? Can anyone give me some advise? Thanks!

You can't draw arcs for your section sketch.  The software cannot compute that.  Based on your pic attachment, you should be able to either section the front or a side view to get what you are looking for.

Is there a reason why you want to have an arc in your section sketch?

The component I am trying to show has slots on the bottom surface and I need to show the slots so I can instruct where to weld.

Understand.  Can you do a section across over the top of it looking down on it?

Maybe do a series of short straight lines to accomplish sort of what the arc would do?

That was one thing I did try, and it was okay...but I then had to hide a bunch of lines on the sectioned view. Suppose I'll just go with that method as I have spent way too much time trying to get a good view. Thanks!
