How do I convert surface to a sheet metal?

I got this file that is completely made out of surfaces and for some reason it's in an assembly. I don't know. I tried deriving it but it still has ties to the original file.

Anyways I need to get this into a sheet metal and then fold it out but I don't know how. I wanted to delete all faces and then thicken/offset it and then conver to sheet metal but for some reason I can't choose any sides. Anyone has any clues what's going on with these files?

Thanks!!

There are different ways of doing, depending on your STEP import options.

Try this:

Ribbon Launch -> Open -> Select 101418446-Test.stp as sample -> Options

Now there are two ways:

1. No hook at "Import Assembly as Single Part"

- Click Ok -> Open. You get an IAM

- Open Selection.ipt in this IAM

- Convert to Sheet Metal

- Ribbon Setup -> Sheet Metal Defaults -> Set Thickness to 1.5mm

- Create Flat Pattern. It does only party. Two flanges are remaining.

- Switch back to folded Model

- 3D Model -> Delete Face (Option Heal) -> Select the outer edge fillets of the remaining flanges in the flat pattern -> Ok

- Fillet both new edges again, now with 3.5mm instead of former 4mm

- Try flat pattern again. Now it's ok.

2. Place hook  at "Import Assembly as Single Part"

- Select "Single Composite Feature" in next row

- Click Ok -> Open. You get a Composite ->

- Select Composite1 in Browser -> Ribbon Surface -> Stitch ->Apply -> Done

- Convert To Sheet Metal

- Same steps now as above
